Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) is the India's main nuclear research unit headquartered in Mumbai.
It is a multi research centre with extensive facilities for advanced research and development covering the entire spectrum of nuclear science, engineering and related areas.
Its other research focus areas are applications for isotopes in industries, medicine, agriculture, etc.
BARC runs a number of research reactors across India.
BARC also conducts research in biotechnology at the Gamma Gardens, and has developed numerous disease resistant and high yielding crop varieties.

Nature of duties
1. Cosmetic maintenance of laboratories and office
buildings and surrounding areas including toilets,
providing clean, neat and hygienic ambience in the area
and miscellaneous office work.
Cleaning and decontamination of plants / machinery,
assistance in plants / workshops / store and other utility
area. The duty may also involve working in round the
clock shifts.
2. Duties include developing the gardens by digging soil
and planting of different plants; maintenance of gardens
by sweeping, watering, weeding, mowing, manuring,
pruning and propagating plants and flower
arrangements.
3. Agricultural operations including ploughing, harvesting,
seed sorting / packing, pesticides and fertilizer
treatment, bird watch, etc.
4. Miscellaneous office work etc..

Selection Procedure Details
1. Preliminary
Test :
50 multi choice questions of one hour duration consisting
of Mathematics, Science
and GK.
2. Advanced Test:
Candidates qualifying Preliminary test will be
eligible for Advanced Test comprising 50 objective type
questions.
